5 Steps To Keeping A Productive Family Morning Routine

5 Steps To Keeping A Productive Family Morning Routine

Morning routines help remove confusion and meet deadlines to get everyone dressed, ready, and out of the door in time to get to work and school. Rather than risk it and rush every morning, flying by the seat of your pants, learn more about what makes a successful morning routine and find out how to include some if not all aspects in your own family’s getting ready regimen each day.

What Makes a Good Morning Routine?

The best morning routines rely on efficiency. However, to be truly efficient, planning, reviewing, modeling, trial and error, and practice are required to get the pattern down pat.

Planning and Talking

Successfully planning a morning routine that works in real life and not just on paper, will require a family meeting. Even if you think you can make decisions to increase the efficacy of your children without including them in the conversion, the changes are unlikely to stick.

Since the goal is to get the whole family ready, the entire family will have to be a part of the conversation for it to work. Plan by asking each member:

  • What do you need to do in the morning to get ready?
  • How long does each task take?
  • How long do all tasks take in total?
  • What time do you need to wake up to accomplish all tasks?
  • Do you need extra time between waking up and completing tasks?

Reviewing

Often, children have no idea how long each task takes or how long the whole process takes to get ready. Including the time it takes to ready children and provide wellements baby cough syrup, many adults are surprised to learn how long their routine takes too. Before trying anything new, be sure to review the time of each person’s routine for accuracy.

Modeling

Children who provide shorter times than expected may need support and modeling. Reviewing with children how long each task should take, the proper ways to complete each task, and how to take organic iron supplements for toddlers is necessary to build strong habits.

Trial and Error

Once you have a general idea of how long each person’s routine will be, determine if anyone needs additional support from another person and add that time in too. For example, if your child takes only 30 minutes to get ready but requires help to eat breakfast and put on a coat and hat, you need to add that time to your routine. After a few tries of successful baby teething remedies and making it within the timeframe you estimated, you will know how to adjust your numbers and in which direction.

Practice and More Practice

No efficient routine comes without diligent practice. Convincing your children to stay focused and moving productively when they are sleepy might be a challenge at first, but adjusting bedtimes and wake-up times is part of the process.

It might take some time for your family to get the routine down to a science. However, once your sequence is in order, your morning routine will be so much easier and more efficient.
